World Naked Bike Ride season is here

This summer's World Naked Bike Ride season has finally arrived. Three events in the United Kingdom already have taken place, but the biggest rides are ahead. Ten cities have rides this weekend and at least 10 more take place the following weekend.

Here is this summer's schedule, as provided by the World Naked Bike Ride organization:

June 6 (Friday): Manchester, Oxford and Southampton in the United Kingdom.
June 7 (Saturday): Bristol, UK; Munich and Leipzig, Germany; and Portland, Oregon.
June 8 (Sunday): Brighton & Hove, UK; New York; Los Angeles.
June 12 (Thursday): Helsinki.
June 14 (Saturday): London and Cardiff (UK), Toronto, Vancouver, Mexico City, Dresden, Chicago, New Orleans, Eugene (Oregon) and Montpelier (Vermont). I'm not sure about the status of Houston; a ride is scheduled for two different dates, this day and the following Saturday.
June 20 (Friday): York, UK.
June 21 (Saturday): Brussels and Madison (Wisconsin).
June 28 (Saturday): Amsterdam and Exeter,UK.
July 5 (Saturday): Montreal and Folkestone, Kent (UK).
July 12 (Saturday): Milwaukee.
July 19 (Saturday): Clacton, UK.
Aug. 2 (Saturday): Montreal (a nighttime ride).
Aug. 9 (Saturday) Kenosha and Racine (Wisconsin) and Lake County (Illinois).

A ride is planned for Philadelphia but the date has not been announced. In the past it was in late August or early September.

If you happen to be near one of these locations, by all means try to get there. You'll have a great time, if not as a participant or volunteer then as a part of the cheering squad. Oh, and of course, clothing is optional.
